Limitations
- Avoid applying a thin base coat and thicker top coat as the level of shrinkage to the thicker top coat could cause the render to delaminate from the base coat
- To avoid shade variations, always apply and finish the render application to whole elevations at the same time
- Do not apply Everbuild Facades One Coat GPR to weak mortar or plaster coated constructions
- Do not use this product on exposed vertical substrates with a backward incline above 10° – a backward incline may affect water run off
- Do not apply on painted substrates
- If applied to concrete, it must not be covered with tiling, as additional waterproofing may be required
Substrate Instructions
SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
- Substrates must be clean, sound, dust free, and free of any material that may prevent adhesion
- Ensure the substrate is free from oil and grease
- Remove all traces of plaster, paint etc.
- If the surface has limited / no porosity, e.g. shutter concrete or wet/patchy substrates, or ones involving several substrates, prime with Everbuild® 503 SBR Bond diluted 3:1 with clean water and allow to dry
- Then add a bonding coat of 1:1 Everbuild 503 SBR Bond with clean water mixed with 1.5 parts cement and apply Everbuild Facades One Coat GPR whilst still tacky. Alternatively use Everbuild 507 Rendagrip or Parex Micro Gobetis 3000 following instructions.
MIXING
Mix at a ratio of 4.5-5.5 litres clean water to 25 kg bag of Everbuild® Facades One Coat GPR
Mix for approx. 3-5 minutes with a spiral action mixer
APPLICATION
Everbuild Facades One Coat GPR should be applied following EN13914-1 code of practice.
For weatherproofing concrete blocks and masonry substrates:
- Apply the first coat of Everbuild Facades One Coat GPR levelled and lined to a depth of 10 mm thick and leave with a toothed trowel finish
- For the second coat, apply a minimum 5 mm coat of product and finish using a stainless steel trowel or float depending on the desired effect. To apply a base coat finish for receiving tiling or brick slip finish, apply one compact 15mm thick coat and leave with toothed trowel finish
For applying onto waterproof substrates e.g. concrete
- Apply a single coat between 7-8 mm thick, float-finishing as you progress using a stainless steel trowel, wooden, plastic or sponge float finish depending on the finish desired
- For thicker applications, apply 2 coats as for float finished waterproofing coatingFor guidance regarding machine application please contact the Parex technical department.
