Dukkaboard Original Panel extended information
Workability
The lightweight design makes the handling and installation of Dukkaboard Original-Panels a simple task. Original-Panels can be easily cut to size using a saw or knife.
Problem Solver
Eliminate the risks linked with the common causes of tile failure associated with traditional building materials such as plywood and plasterboard which are prone to absorbing moisture, leading to substrate instability and mould growth.
Ready to Tile
Dukkaboard Original-Panels provide a stable, ready-to-tile surface, compatible with all types of tile adhesives. With great thermal insulation values and high load strength, Original-Panels can be used with all types of existing and mixed substrates including concrete, masonry, screeds, metal and wooden studwork.
Loading & Bonding
Dukkaboard Original-Panels are made from Hard Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Foam which satisfies the requirements for BS EN13164:2008 and achieved a TR200 rating for bonding to cement mortar in accordance with BS EN1607:1997 coating with a flexible cement-based mortar and reinforced with an alkali resistant fibreglass mesh.
Fixed to floors can resist significant static loads of up to 30 tons per m2 when fixed over concrete and structurally stable floors (calculation based on a 1m x 1 m tile fixed over Dukkaboard.
Fixed to masonry walls and stud framework is capable of vertical tile loading of 100 kgm2.
Installation, Fixing and Waterproofing
Dukkaboard is easy to use and can be fixed using cement based flexible tile adhesive. Solvent based or ready mixed adhesives must not be used. Alternatively Dukkaboard can be fixed using dowels, or screws and washers.
Dukkaboard is completely resistant to water making it an ideal choice for use in areas subject to prolonged or permanent water immersion such as showers, bathrooms, wetrooms, pool areas etc.
When used in conjunction with Dukkaboard Aqua77 Waterproofing products, it forms part of a high performance waterproofing system for quality tiling, creative freedom and peace of mind.
The Dukkaboard system is complemented by an extensive range of accessories and waterproofing products.
For external use, please talk to our technical team for additional installation guidance.
Suitable For Use With Underfloor Heating
With its excellent thermal properties and impressive U-values, Dukkaboard is essential when installing electric underfloor heating. Heat mats and cables can be laid out easily over the durable reinforced cement coated surface, whilst the high density extruded polystyrene core provides excellent insulating properties, resulting in faster heat up times and greatly reduced downward heat loss.
Soundproofing Properties
Dukkaboard is the ideal solution where impact sound reduction is of particular importance. Designed for tiled floor areas where noise is an issue, its low mass helps to absorb impact sound energy, giving enhanced acoustic performance.
Storage
Dukkaboard Original-Panels should be stored flat, under cover and on a dry, level surface. Stacks of loose boards should not exceed one metre in height.
