BritGyp S1 Rapidset further information
Coverage: 4.5kg/m2 at approximately 3mm bed depth.
PREPARATION:
All surfaces must be free from loose matter, dry (<0.5% moisture), clean from any dust or grease, and be dimensionally stable.
APPLICATION:
- Plaster: Ensure surface is dry with less than 0.5% moisture before tiling commences (20kg/m2 maximum load).
- Anhydrite: Ensure surface is dry with less than 0.5% moisture. Surface laitance should be removed by scarification with a carbide disc. The surface should then be hoovered to ensure no debris is left on the floor. If the surface is excessively dusty after scarification then it can be primed with a 1:1 dilution of BRITPRIMER SBR.
MIXING RATIO:
Add 20kg of BRITGYP S1 Rapidset into a mixing vessel containing 5lt of clean cold water. BRITGYP S1 Rapidset should be mixed either by hand or with a mechanical mixer with water to form a smooth, lump free thixotropic paste. Apply adhesive to the surface so that a continuous bed of adhesive between 3mm and 6mm is achieved. BRITGYP S1 Rapidset can be used up to 10mm in uneven areas.
CLEANING:
Remove surplus adhesive with a damp cloth. Clean tools with water.
GROUTING:
Grouting should be carried out using BRIT FLEXI GROUT mixed with BRIT SUPERFLEX liquid only after 3 hours and depending on site conditions.
STORAGE:
Store unopened in original packaging in cool, dry conditions. BRITGYP S1 RAPIDSET has a shelf life of 6 months from the date shown on the packaging.
TECHNICAL/CE INFORMATION:
All work should be carried out in accordance with BS5385 and BS8000, The Code of Practice for the installation of floor and wall tiles.
