S2 Tile Adhesives are designed with flexibility built-in. Normally an S2 allows for 5mm or greater deformability or strong vibration. This could be more depending on manufacturer and specification, with some designed to go up to 20mm.
S2 Tile Adhesives are designed to allow for movement within a substrate and prevent the final tile from de-bonding or cracking. If on the other hand, a non-flexible tile adhesive is used and is subject to movement or vibration the adhesive is likely to crack or completely fail thus resulting in a damaged floor and tiles lifting.
