BritPrimer HD extended information
Consumption: The consumption of Brit Primer HD depends on the porosity and absorption of the substrate. Normal consumption is between 0.15 and 0.25 kg/mz.
BritPrimer HD is a high end deep sealing primer, which has excellent mechanical strength, with excellent adhesion even in wet conditions. It forms a highly flexible membrane that has excellent crack bridging and waterproofing properties.
Brit Primer HD can be used on absorbent and less absorbent substrates. Prevents over rapid dehydration of thin bed mortar and levelling compounds, prolongs open time, improves adhesion and prevents shrinkage cracking of covering layers
Application
BritPrimer HD is ideal for use in pasty construction and tile adhesives whose high adhesive strength is not affected by water or dampness. BritPrimer HD can be used to produce construction adhesives and primers conforming to strict eco-labelling requirements.
BritPrimer HD is best suited for use with the Brit Adhesives range of cementitous tile adhesives as they have a common polymer structure. It is also ideal to use with tile adhesives that conform to EN 12004 and ready-to-use D2 tile adhesives. It is recommended for use prior to the application of all waterproofing systems.
Processing
BritPrimer HD is highly compatible with standard pigments and fillers. When using the dispersion in the preparation of filled, pasty compounds, it is advisable to raise its pH to a value > 7.5 prior to the addition of fillers. Since BritPrimer HD contains no free ammonia, ammonia-free compounds can be prepared by adding KOH or AMP-95®. Because of the low minimum film forming and glass transition temperature an addition of organic solvents or plasticizers is not necessary.
Technical
Brit Primer HD is a fine-particle 50% dispersion of a styrene/acrylic acid ester copolymer in water. Films based on Brit Primer HD possess high water resistance and excellent adhesion even in wet conditions. Brit Primer HD is also produced without the use of film-forming agents. Brit Primer HD is a dispersion with optimum combination of high performance and positive ecological aspects. The dispersion is produced without the use of alkyl phenol ethoxylate (APE) containing compounds, organic solvents and plasticizers.

Cleaning
Tools and containers should be washed at once with clean water. Any remaining residues once dry have to be removed mechanically.
Storage
BritPrimer HD can be stored for up to 12 months, in its original unopened packaging. Store in a cool frost protected place. As polymer dispersions may tend to superficial film formation, skins or lumps may be formed during storage or transportation. A filtration process is thus recommended prior to utilization of the product
