It is a solvent-based protective coating for external waterproofing and weather protection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, concrete, roofing felt, fibre cement, corrugated iron, asphalt and wood.
It dries to form an odourless and taint-free bitumen film.

IMPORTANT: Before using Bostik Bituminous Black Paint refer to the relevant Health & Safety Data Sheet, available
at www.bostik.com/uk.
1. Ensure the roof surface is structurally sound, clean, dry and free from oil, dirt, grease and loose material.
2. Remove any organic growth i.e. moss or lichen with Bostik Fungicidal Wash.
3. Metal surfaces should be wire brushed to remove rust. Any remaining rust should be primed with Bostik Penetration Primer for Roofs and allowed to dry for 24 hours.
4. Surfaces to be treated must be completely free of water.
5. Stir well before use.
6. Bostik Bituminous Black Paint is ready for use and thinning is not normally necessary. Apply at least two coats by brush allowing each coat to dry (normally 24 hours) before applying the next. Non-potable water tanks:
7. Apply a minimum of two coats allowing at least 24 hours for drying between each coat. This may be longer depending on conditions. Thoroughly wash out the tank after the final coat has dried.
8. Clean tools and equipment in brush cleaner immediately after use.
9. Hardened material may be removed by soaking in cleaner.
10. Wash hands with a suitable resin dissolving hand cleanser.
Do not use internally.
Do not apply to ponds, fishponds or swimming ponds.
Do not apply when the surface is too hot.
It is not advisable to work in humid or foggy weather conditions or when there is a risk of rain before the paint has dried.
Colour indicated on pack is a guide only. It is recommended that users apply a small amount of Bostik Bituminous Black Paint in an inconspicuous area and allow to dry to determine colour suitability before commencing work.
Shade variations may occur between batches. When completing projects requiring multiple tins please ensure that they are from the same batch.
