Soudal Fix ALL Crystal extended information
Q & A
Q: Can Soudal Fix ALL Crystal be painted?
A: Hybrids can be painted very well using most paint types. Note: Paint is less flexible than hybrid sealants and therefore the paint may crack when adhesive sealant joints move. We recommend always carrying out a prior adhesion and compatibility test.
Q: Can Fix ALL freeze?
A: Hybrids cannot freeze due to their extremely low water content.
Q: What is the curing time of Soudal Fix ALL?
A: The curing time of Fix ALL® will depend on the following factors:
- The thickness of the joint
- Humidity
- Temperature
- Surface
Under optimum conditions (20°C and a RH of 60% RH), a 2-3mm bead will need 24 hours.
Instructions
Surfaces and materials should be clean and free of dust and grease. When used as adhesive: Apply Soudal Fix All High Tack in beads or dots onto the material which needs to be bonded, press the material firmly onto the substrate for instant grab. Final strength will be achieved 24 hours after application. When used as sealant: Apply Soudal Fix All High Tack in a regular bead and smoothen immediately with Soudal Joint Finish or a soapy solution. Application temperature: +5°C until +35°C.

Soudal Fix ALL Crystal Chemical Resistance
Good resistance to (salt)water, aliphatic solvents, hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, alcohols, diluted mineral acids and alkalis. Poor resistance to aromatic solvents, concentrated acids and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Substrates
Substrates: all usual building substrates, glass, treated wood, metals, PVC, plastics, stone, concrete …
Nature: rigid, clean, dry or slightly moist, free of dust and grease.
Surface Preparation
Porous surfaces should be primed with Primer 150. Prepare non-porous surfaces with a Soudal activator or cleaner (see Technical Data Sheet).
While producing plastics very often releasing agents, processing aids and other protective agents (like protection foil) are used. These should be removed prior to bonding or sealing. NOTICE: bonding plastics like PMMA (e.g. Plexi® glass), polycarbonate (e.g. Makrolon® or Lexan®) in stress loaded applications can give rise to stress cracking and crazing in these substrates. The use of Soudal Fix ALL Crystal is not recommended in these applications. Not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE (eg Teflon®), bituminous substrates, copper or copper- containing materials such as bronze and brass. We recommend a preliminary adhesion and compatibility test on every surface.

Health- and Safety Recommendations
Take the usual labour hygiene into account.
Consult label and material safety data sheet for more information.
Dangerous. Respect the precautions for use.
Remarks
- Soudal Fix ALL Crystal is paintable with waterbased paints, however due to the large number of paints and varnishes available we strongly suggest a compatibility test before application.
- The drying time of alkyd resin based paints may increase.
- Fix ALL Crystal can be applied to a wide variety of substrates. Due to the fact that specific substrates such as plastics, like polycarbonate, etc, may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, we recommend preliminary compatibility test.
- Fix ALL Crystal is not suitable for expansion joints.
- Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
- Soudal Fix ALL Crystal can discolour under extreme conditions or after very long UV exposure.
- Fix ALL Crystal can not be used as a glazing sealant.
- Not suitable for bonding aquariums.
- Soudal Fix ALL Crystal cannot be used on natural stone.
- The sanitary formula should not replace regular cleaning of the joint. Excessive contamination, deposits or soap remaining will stimulate the development of fungi.
- A total absence of UV can cause a colour change of the sealant.
- Discolouration due to chemicals, high temperatures, UV-radiation may occur. A change in colour does not affect the technical properties of the product.
- Contact with bitumen, tar or other plasticizer releasing materials such as EPDM, neoprene, butyl, etc. is to be avoided since it can give rise to discolouration and loss of adhesion.
- When using different reactive joint sealants, the first joint sealant must be completely hardened before the next one is applied.
