How to install?

Surface preparation: All surfaces should be between 5°C and + 35° C and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, paint, concrete sealers or curing compounds.

Gypsum, anhydrite, or particularly absorbent substrates should be treated with a primer such as Laticrete PRIMER PLUS or Laticrete PRIMER SUPERIOR. Dry, dusty concrete slabs or masonry should be dampened and excess water swept off.

Mixing: Use a clean mixing pail with clean, potable water. Do not add other aggregates or hydraulic binders to Laticrete 335 MAXI S.

Mixing ratio:
• For a thixotropic adhesive, use approx. 6,4 L of water with 20 kg of powder for a smooth, creamy consistency.
• For a self-wetting adhesive (flow-bed), use 7,6-8 L of water for a smooth paste free from lumps.

Mix by hand or with a slow speed mixer to a smooth, trowelable consistence. Allow to slake for 2 minutes. Remix briefly before application, without adding any more water or powder. During use, stir occasionally to keep mix fluffy. Do not temper with water.

How to apply Laticrete 335 MAXI S?

Apply adhesive to the substrate with the flat side of the trowel, pressing firmly to work into surface. Comb on additional mortar with the notched side, in an even, continuous layer. Use the adhesive within the open time. If the mixture is hardening, do not attempt to restore workability by adding water.

Upon completion, protect finished work from rain during the 24 hours following installation. During cold weather, protect finished work from traffic for the first 48 hours.

Note: Use the proper sized notched trowel to ensure the adhesive adheres to the tile, covering at least 95% of the back of tile for indoor installations and 100% for outdoors installations or in areas subject to heavy traffic.

For applications in areas exposed to freezing temperatures or subject to particular mechanical strains (outdoors, paving/flooring subject to heavy loads, materials with uneven thicknesses), the adhesive must be spread over both the substrate and the back of the tile (back buttering/double spreading method).

Grouting

Grout installation after a minimum of 12 hours curing time at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. Conditions may change the setting and curing time. Grout with SPECTRALOCK® PRO PREMIUM GROUT, PERMACOLOR SELECT, or PERMACOLOR SELECT FINE.

NB

• DO NOT use on concrete constructions that have been built in less than 3 months.
• On gypsum or anhydrite bases, use Laticrete PRIMER PLUS or Laticrete PRIMER SUPERIOR before adhesive application.
• NOT recommended for exterior application when used on existing tile, fluid cement-based or fluid anhydrite-based screeds (standard or heated with water system), or cement-based or gypsum-based boards.
• DO NOT use on surfaces where quick walkability is required.
• DO NOT use on wooden, metal rubber, PVC or linoleum surfaces.
• DO NOT use with moisture sensitive stones in a damp environment.
• Use the white version for white or light- coloured marble/stone.
• Adhesives/mastics, mortars and grouts for ceramic tile, pavers, brick and stone are not designed as replacements for waterproof membranes. When a waterproof barrier is required, use a LATICRETE Waterproofing Membrane Note: Surfaces must be structurally sound, stable and rigid enough to support ceramic/stone tile, thin brick and similar finishes.

Cautions

• Some marbles and other natural stones have low flexural strength and may not be suitable for installation over wood floors.
• During cold weather, protect finished work from traffic until fully cured.
• Contains cement. May irritate eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes or prolonged contact with skin. In case of contact, flush thoroughly with water.
• Keep out of reach of children.
